Shawna Cartwright

Shawna Cartwright is the Head of Transformation for the Ryder Systems Inc, Information Technology organization. She joined Ryder in August of 2015, starting her career as the Senior Director, Application Strategy & Development, leading the Central Support organization. In this role Shawna was committed to managing over 60 key legacy systems leveraged to perform cross divisional business management; including functions such as Finance, HR, Risk, Audit, Tax, and Legal.

In addition to management of support for these core systems, the role also included management for all new system implementation programs and projects within the same functional areas across the organization globally. In May 2016, Shawna transitioned into her current role as Head of Transformation where she is defining and implementing the short and long term transformation strategy for Ryder. The Ryder Transformation includes identifying opportunities to support Ryder’s business strategy through modernization of legacy systems, platforms, and tools leveraging innovation, process improvement and performance management, while reducing risk and complexity.

Shawna has over 15 years of experience in ERP System Implementations, Shared Services, Business Transformation, Continuous Improvement, and Project Management. She has worked across multiple industries including Consulting, Logistics, and Insurance; with a key focus on optimizing and transforming Finance and HR processes, organizations and solutions.

Prior to joining Ryder, Shawna led key transformational initiatives at both DHL and Aon. During her two years at Aon, she designed and implemented Service Catalogs and Frameworks across four key shared services functions (HR, Finance, IT, and Real Estate). Additionally, she was the owner of process governance on the Global HR Workday implementation including consolidation of two global PeopleSoft platforms & 100+ HR Systems.  At DHL she defined and executed the overall Shared Services Strategy, including the transition and buildout of the Finance and HR Services (FHS) Shared Service Center in San Jose, Costa Rica, resulting in an annual cost reduction of over $10M with estimated process efficiency savings of about 30 percent.

Shawna holds a BS in both Accounting and Management Information System from Kansas State University. She also maintains certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Alliance Agile Product Owner, and Six Sigma Black Belt. She lives in Davie, FL, with her husband, David, and three children. She and her family enjoy swimming, biking, skiing, and traveling.
